AMA Selection China Tour
Summer 2025
This summer, the AMA Selection China Tour 2025 traveled through seven cities—Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Yinchuan, Chengdu, and Beijing—connecting more than a hundred wine lovers and professionals through seven masterclasses.
This year’s itinerary introduced two new destinations. In Hangzhou, a hub of China’s internet industry, a new generation of creative young people is driving the rapid growth of wine culture. In Guangzhou, a cosmopolitan powerhouse of the Greater Bay Area, wine has become deeply integrated into the dining scene, supported by a loyal community of Bordeaux enthusiasts.
The success of the tour was made possible thanks to the professionalism of its partners. Among them were COFCO W&W and Jointek, two of China’s leading importers; Shuffle, a pioneer wine bar in Shenzhen; Grapea, the country’s largest wine education group based in Shanghai; and institutions rooted in China’s wine regions. Support also came from Chengdu Breton, with decades of expertise in Bordeaux grands crus, and Yay Terroir, a boutique merchant in Hangzhou dedicated to sharing terroir through passion. Their collaboration gave each event depth and brilliance.
All wines presented came from the AMA Selection 2022 vintage, represented by three sub-categories: the Kunlun Selection (昆仑集), the Hidden Dragon Selection (藏龙集), and the Hidden Jade Selection (璞玉集). The 2022 vintage, which received a rare five-star rating by Alexandre MA, has already been hailed as “our generation’s 1982.” Participants experienced Bordeaux 2022 in bottle for the first time, and many estates were acclaimed as “Destined for Greatness.”
Looking ahead, the AMA Selection China Tour will continue its journey to more cities and audiences, building new connections while celebrating the conviction and beauty of wine.
